The 2nd Annual Talent Buzz event in Minneapolis was held yesterday, on Lake Minnetonka. Once again, the intent behind the event was to create an opportunity for HR and Recruiting leaders to talk about trends, opportunities, share successes, challenges, and of course network… An opportunity beyond a conference without formal one-sided presentations, recycled content, or a vendor exhibit hall.
Sure, the setting was a “3 hour tour” on a yacht, but we were in great company. The topics floating around included diversity, recruiting, retention, employee engagement, and of course a splash of social media.
While there are many forms and definitions of networking, we’re sticking to this format… That is, until later this year when we announce a superior “after hours” format.
If you don’t find yourself with the opportunities to meet others in your industry or profession, create them. Networking, while it has many definitions is a powerful thing.
