It’s been a couple of years since we’ve seen a HR / Recruiting web site (community) for sale via auction. The last was in late 2009, when HRM Today sold on ebay for $4,075 (the site had 1,200 members at the time).
Until today… RecruitingBlogs.com sold via auction on Flippa for $95,000.
This is the second large domain / web site sale in the recruiting space for the sites’ founder, Jason Davis. The first was in 2006, when Davis sold Recruiting.com to Jobster.
How much of this matters? Not much when you consider there are over 1 million Recruiters, and this community has under 3% of them as members. Point in case – when’s the last time you heard HRM Today? Jobster?
While RecruitingBlogs has significantly more members than HRM today did, a critical component of making this a successful acquisition will be the timeliness and immediate engagement with its’ members (not just a daily email).
Congrats to Jason Davis for the launch and sale of RecruitingBlogs.com, and the former employees for building the 28,000 member community.
